Dave's Kitchen
Before (above) & After (below)
We had given this Kitchen a face lift 10 years ago. So when Dave called me in about a leaky faucet that needed replaced, I suggested that it was time for a total makeover. The cabinets were looking tired and dirty, the lighting was inadequate, the appliances were old and not very energy efficient. His bar area had become a catch all for the phone, answering machine and family photos. So after a lot of conversation, he finally gave in to most of my suggestions. He really didn't want to rearrange the cabinets and they seemed to be a solid construction. So here is what we did:
- Refaced cabinets in Cherry with new solid Cherry doors
- Repainted cabinets at Bar area in white and new doors
- New Corian Tops and Under Mount sink
- New Cherry extended counter top at bar area so two people can sit there
- New Brass Hardware in a classic style to match the house
- Added pull out drawer/shelves for the pots and pans
- Changed all the lighting to energy efficient fixtures and bulbs
- Recessed lights in ceiling
- Under Cabinet lights with a touch pad
- Pendent over Bar
- All new Energy Star Appliances (where available) in White
- Smooth Glass top Stove
- Enegry Star Dishwasher
- Moved the Microwave over the stove with light and exhaust built-in.
- Frig. with water and ice in door
- Made a Phone Center, where the microwave used to be, and re-organized
- Added a family photo collage and put photos in a small album for people to look through and enjoy without cluttering the counter.
- We did have to re-make a couple of cabinets to fit the new appliances. And make the whole kitchen work better.
- Updated the electrical to GFCI to get things up to code.
- And a NEW BRASS FAUCET to replace the leaky one!
All the Carpentry and Cabinet Re-facing was done by The Woodshop! Great Job guys.
